About Our Campaign

Lawton Direct Drive fundraiser is our school’s largest fundraising event of the year. It brings in the most money for our school community and your support is invaluable in continuing to ensure our kids have all the support and tools they need to thrive! The goal for Direct Drive is to raise $130,000.

Our Lawton PTA is financially responsible for many of the things that make our school great: staff salaries, art docent program, classroom supplies, library books, scholarships, Field Day, lunchroom & playground monitors, PTA events, and more.

Our ask per child is $450. Not all families are able to give at this level, so we encourage you to donate what you’re able to fund our PTA programs.

FAQs

A: Search in your email for “Givebacks”, the third party fundraising company we use for our Direct Drive. Please be sure to check your junk mail just in case!

A: If you’ve searched in your email and junk mail and can’t find a receipt from Givebacks, email support@givebacks.com and have them resubscribe you to transactional emails.

A: Givebacks is processing fees for us in exchange for using their “tip model”. Giving a tip helps offset our credit card processing fees, which means Lawton keeps more money from your donation. Tips are optional, and can be changed to $0 by selecting “custom amount”.

A: Yes. You can select “custom amount” and choose an amount that fits your budget. We will spend $450 per child this year, but that may be more or less than you’re able to give.

Lawton PTA’s annual budget pays for:

  • teacher and staff salaries
  • our PTA community events (Back to School Bash, Fall Festival, Bingo Night, Kindergarten Social, Fifth Grade Promotion)
  • school supplies (classroom supplies, PE equipment, music supplies, WAVE store prizes, online licenses, safety patrol supplies)
  • in-school festivities and activities (Field Day, Art Docent program, visiting authors, STEAM week, Staff Appreciation Week, Kindergarten Jumpstart)
  • support for families in need (enrichment scholarships, Islandwood scholarships)
  • and much more!
