Families enrolling at Lawton for the first time should let the school know as soon as possible.

First day of school for 1st – 12th grade students. The first day of school is not an early release day. Early release will occur every Wednesday except for the first week of school.

Kindergarten Jump Start Cancellation Update, February 2026
Due to a roof replacement project scheduled for the next two summers by the district, Lawton will unfortunately not be able to offer our “Jump Start” program for Kindergarteners in August. Kindergarten teachers will communicate with families assigned to their class via email in late August with information and directions for how to sign up for a required “Family Connections” meeting the first week of school (9/2 – 9/4). Kindergarten students do not attend school during this week, and their first day of school this year is Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026.
