Principal Newsletter – April 9, 2021

Students, families, and staff have all be adjusting to new learning schedules this week. Thank you for all you’ve done to ensure your students get to class on time virtually or in-person! This has allowed our teachers to stay focused on social emotional and academic learning.

My highlights this week were seeing students inside our doors and getting to say hi to Ms. Misner’s virtual class as she took them on a mini-tour of Lawton!

I hope everyone has a restful and rejuvenating spring break. Are you traveling? Click HERE for SPS’s travel and quarantine guidance.

Grab & Go Breakfasts and Lunches

SPS is providing free shelf-stable breakfasts and lunches to students who need them for the remainder of the year. Students may not eat on campus but can pick up a meal to take home (e.g. take a grab-and-go breakfast on Monday to eat before you come to school on Tuesday). Click HERE to request breakfast and/or lunch for your student.

April Art Experience

Lawton’s art committee is collaborating with Learning with Style to bring a unique music experience to students in April. Students will explore books, reflect on their relevance, and work together to create a chorus based on the books for the class to sing together. Be on the lookout for an invite on your student’s calendar after Spring Break (the link and password will be inside the calendar invite). It’s going to be fun!
