Magnolia Elementary School would like to invite your parent and caregiver communities to join us online on Tuesday April 22 from 6pm to 7:30pm for an important presentation and discussion on neurodiversity and neurodivergence.
Attendees will:
- gain a deeper understanding of neurodiversity and neurodivergence
- learn about different neurotypes
- discover resources for continued learning
- participate in a Q&A with presenters Sara Woods PhD and Chelsea Deaconson LBA, M.Ed., BCBA
This event is open to all parents and caregivers, whether your children are, or may be, neurodivergent or not. Let’s all learn how we can better support our broad neurodivergent community!

Seattle Pacific University School of Education Department and Seattle United Soccer Club have partnered together to create a free soccer program for individuals with disabilities. This program is called UNITE soccer; the mission of this program is to strive to create a place for neurodiverse youth to engage in safe social interactions on the soccer field. Creating a sense of belonging within a soccer community that invites individuals to make meaningful relationships and a chance to step on the field is important to both SPU students and Seattle United staff.
For whom: This program is free for all individuals with disabilities ages 6-18. (Siblings are welcome to join in)
When: 10-11 am on May 3, 10, 17, and 31st

Day 2: HIRAM CHITTENDON LOCKS – to watercolor, observe the blue heron colony, fish ladder, and explore the, “boat elevator.”
Day 3: ZIP LINE DAY – We will head to the Discovery Park zip line for some fun and playground time. Along the way, we will explore the difference between deciduous and evergreen trees and practice identifying various plants. We will also draw pictures of nature, trees, birds, plants, and anything else we see.
Day 4: Hike to ELLA BAILEY – to enjoy the best view in Seattle and climbing, basketball, frisbee, soccer, swings, watercolor, and more..
Day 5: LIGHT HOUSE/BEACH – Beach exploration. Crab, sea anemones, blue heron, sea hawks, and eagles have been found at the beach! We will explore the forest trails that lead to the beach and marine life.
The Boys & Girls Club provides enriching after-school care programs where kids can learn, play, and grow in a safe environment on-site at Lawton Elementary. They also offer exciting summer camps filled with activities that inspire creativity, teamwork, and fun.
