COSTUME RULES
Halloween is coming and we know many students are getting excited. To help you plan, here’s a reminder of costume rules for school:
- Pack your costume – don’t wear it to school. There will be an opportunity to change before celebrations. School costumes need to be simple enough for students to manage changing into on their own.
- No costume masks.
- No face paint, blood, or gore.
- No weapons.
- Footwear should be practical, safe, and comfortable for active play.
- Avoid cultural appropriation.
You can expect to hear from your student’s teacher about their specific classroom celebration plans. All celebrations will take place on Friday, October 29th. School celebrations will not have any food this year.
HALLOWEEN IN THE VILLAGE
An update from the Magnolia Chamber of Commerce: Halloween in the Village will have a different look and purpose in Magnolia this year. Though the Magnolia Chamber of Commerce has made the hard choice to cancel Halloween-in-the-Village 2021, it is working alongside merchants and Chamber members to collect the dollars usually used for purchasing candy and pooling these funds to donate to local schools, including Lawton.
The Lawton community is grateful for this support and looks forward to celebrating Halloween in the Village as soon as we can!
