Our hallways are filled with book characters, the trees in the loading zone are in full bloom, students are excited about their WAVE store purchases, and Carol McKinney is making beautiful watercolors with 3rd – 5th grade students (K-2 students will work with our artist in residence in May).
All in all, it’s been a joyful send off for Spring Break. We’ll look forward to seeing you all again on Monday, April 17th!
Volunteer Needs
- Roller blade helpers. Mr. Peters and Ms. Collis would love parent help getting the equipment from our roller blade unit sorted and stored for next year. If you’re able/willing to help match skates, create bags of pads, and flag equipment that needs repair, please email kmcerise. Looking for help the week we return from break.
- Monday and Tuesday After School Club Support. We need volunteers to staff the lobby Mondays (2:15-4:15pm) and Tuesdays (2:15-3:45pm) from April 17 to June 20. Please email afterschoolprograms if you can help with one or both of these days. The PTA can offer free tuition to your student if they are participating in an enrichment class on Monday or Tuesday and you are available to help on a weekly basis.
Naramore Art Show
The Naramore Art Show celebrates over 200 artworks by our middle and high school students at the Seattle Art Museum’s Community Gallery. The exhibit is free and runs April 8 – May 14 (Saturdays and Sundays only).

Grab dinner and a drink for a good cause on April 20th. Our next restaurant night is Thursday April 20th from 5-9pm at Figurehead Brewing with Midnite Ramen! A portion of the proceeds from both will be donated to our PTA.

Family Movie Night (WALL-E) on April 28th. The students have voted, and WALL-E was our winner! Please join the Lawton PTA for a family movie night on Friday, April 28th. Doors open at 5:30pm. Move-a-thon is Friday, May 12! We need lots of parent volunteers to help track laps, run with the kids and otherwise encourage our movers to keep on keeping on. More info to come, but be sure your volunteer status is up-to-date so you don’t miss out!
