We are entering the final few weeks of the school year and they are busy weeks! Here’s a summary of key dates and what to expect.
PTA Year-End Celebration – Friday, June 3rd
Who: All Lawton families invited
What: Zumba, face painting, tattoos, and treats. (Secret Sausage available for purchase)
When: June 3rd, 5 pm – 7 pm
Where: Lawton Playground and upper fields
Why: To see old friends, meet new friends and gather together
Library Book Returns – Friday, June 10th
Please help us get our collection back by searching your home for library books that need to be returned. Not sure what your student has checked out? You can see library info in The Source. All books need to be returned by Friday, June 10th. Any lost books need to be paid for or replaced by Monday, June 13th.
Field Day – Friday, June 10th
We are excited for field day and grateful to all the volunteers making it possible. Please send your students in comfortable play clothes and shoes safe for active bodies. It’s also helpful for all students to have a water bottle clearly marked with their name.
Student Device Return – On or before June 10th
Your teachers will communicate with you about plans for technology return. We need all student devices back no later than June 10th.
Report Cards – Wednesday, June 15th
Our goal is to have this year’s final progress reports delivered to students by Wednesday, June 15th. Electronic copies will be available on The Source by July 11th.
Lost and Found – Review and claim by Friday, June 17th
Our lost and found racks are overflowing. Please encourage your student to search for lost items or look next time you are in the building. All unclaimed items will be donated on Monday, June 20th.
Lawton Grounds Clean Up – Sunday, June 26th
Willing to lend a hand for an hour or three to help pull weeds and spread mulch? We’d love your help getting the Lawton grounds tidied up for summer. Please join us Sunday, June 26th 9am to 1pm. It’s helpful if you bring your own gloves, but we’ll also have tools and gloves on hand to share. Please sign up HERE.
Health Updates
Covid notifications. We sent three classroom notifications in the past week. You can find district-level information on the SPS Covid Dashboard.
June vaccination and booster clinics. SPS is partnering with Othello Station Pharmacy to offer six weekend COVID-19 vaccination clinics open to all SPS students, staff, and their families, ages 5 and up. Boosters for 5- to 11-year-olds and second boosters for adults 50 and older will be available. Dates and times for the six June clinics are posted on the SPS COVID vaccine webpage.
