The period between Mid-Winter Break and Spring Break is one if our longest, uninterrupted stretches of learning and Lawton students are doing exciting things with this time!
Students are engaging in research, collaboration, and creative problem-solving all over the school. Kindergarteners have been doing activities related to the 100th day of school. 1st graders have been creatively exploring gymnastics stations in PE. Second grade’s great conversations about Black History in February have transitioned to Women’s History in March. You can now ask a Lawton 3rd grader for PowerPoint tips – they’ve been learning to make well-designed and visually attractive presentations to share their research on animals. 4th graders are researching countries and making persuasive and well-supported arguments in essay form. And rumor has it that our 5th graders will be presenting music videos on dividing decimals next week!

Pi Night
Please join us at 5:30pm on Tuesday, March 14th for Pi Night. We’re excited to eat pie and play math games together. It should be a joyful hour and we hope to see you there! Bringing a pie is optional but encouraged (sweet or savory, store-bought or homemade).
Please Label Coats with Your Student’s Name
The weather is unpredictable this time of year, which means jackets and sweatshirts are coming on and off all day long. Please make sure to label all your outer layers so that we can return them to their owners when we find them in the lost and found.
PTA Fundraisers
Damoori Kitchen Take-Out Night. Ordering is open! Lawton PTA is partnering for another take-out night with Damoori Kitchen on Wednesday, March 15th. Make your dinner selections and choose your pick-up time here by Monday, March 13th.
Nutty Squirrel. Need a little ice cream to go with your Pi(e)? Taco Tuesday is March 14th from 3-7pm! Nutty Squirrel donates 15% of purchases to the Lawton PTA.
