Lawton Families,
This week (11/13-16) our 5th grade students will be going to Islandwood Camp – which is a very exciting and a wonderful experience for Lawton students – but this does mean that there will be no Safety Patrol at 27th and Elmore while they are gone. We’ll do our best to have a staff member at the intersection, but please exercise caution and patience with car drop off, walkers crossing streets, and biking to school this week.
Family Conferences
Please note that the week of 11/20-24 there is no school for Elementary-aged students in Seattle Public Schools. Middle and High school students do have school on 11/20-22, and all students have no school 11/23-24 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
By now, Lawton teachers have communicated with their families about how to sign up for Family Conferences. We expect all of our families to attend conferences for all of our 329 students, and our teachers have prepared data and information about each individual student’s academic and social emotional learning to share with families during this meeting. At Lawton we are proud of the strong home/school connections that we work to build, and know that our students thrive when our staff and our families work together and develop effective communication strategies. If for any reason you have not signed up for a conference yet, please reach out to your child’s teacher directly.

Healthy Snack Donations Wanted
The Main Office keeps healthy snacks (applesauce, crackers, granola bars, and the like) on hand for students who forgot a snack or need an energy boost, but we are running low this time of year. We’d love a few donations to replenish our supply!
