We hope you’ll join the PTA for their back-to-school bash tonight from 5-7pm. It’s a great way to come together as a community to celebrate the start of a new year.
As we transition to October, we’re continuing the work of building classroom communities, growing our stamina as learners, and forming lasting habits.
We’re asking for your partnership to make on-time arrival a key habit for your student. On-time arrivals are important for both safety and classroom routines.
On time arrivals support building and student safety. Having all students in class and ready to learn at 7:55 is a allows us to lock all exterior doors promptly at the start of the school day and fully staff our office for timely attendance to make sure all students are accounted for.
On time arrivals are important for classroom routines. Arriving even a few minutes late is disruptive to the classroom routine and can result students missing valuable morning instruction.
Students may arrive on campus at 7:40am, when supervision begins. Students should be ready to enter the building at 7:50 when the first bell rings. Students should be in their classrooms and ready to learn at 7:55am when the late bell rings.

Feedback Needed: School Board Directors Districts
SPS is currently redistricting/redrawing boundaries the Seattle School Board director districts. This process will not impact where students go to school. Find more information about the school board district redistricting process and timeline here and submit online feedback here or during upcoming School Board meetings on September 28th or Wednesday October 26th.
Back to School Bash is Tonight (9/30)! Please join us from 5-7pm on the Lawton playground. Secret Sausage will be selling $5 dinners (hotdog, drink, and chips) and there will be a bake sale. After-School Enrichment Registration Open Now. Registration closes on Wednesday, October 12th. The Fall session starts Monday, October 17th. Check out the Lawton ASE portal to see the schedule, class descriptions, and fees. Space limited and available first come, first serve.
Seeking Parent Volunteer for Run Like the Wind. Due to overwhelming interest, PTA is looking for a parent volunteer to help with Run Like the Wind on Mondays from 2:30-3:30 starting October 17th and ending December 16th. Free tuition for the student whose parent is able to help. Please contact vicepresidents if you are interested.
