Lawton Families,
Hope that you have had a fantastic Winter Break, and we are excited to see your students on January 6, 2025! Just a few reminders for you as you prepare to send your students back to school on Monday:
School Devices Must Be Returned
It is not likely that we will have an inclement weather day on January 6, so the devices (iPads for K-2, laptops for 3-5) AND chargers that were sent home over break must return with your student on January 6. We use the devices for both instruction and for assessments and our students need to have access to them at school every day.
Report Absences, Late Arrival/Early Dismissal and Bus Changes to both Teachers and the Main Office
Please, please let both your student’s teacher AND lawton@seattleschools.org know where your student is if they are not at school, and if they have a change in their bus riding routine. We are legally obligated to track attendance carefully every day and appreciate your prompt communication about any changes.
Getting Back into the Groove of School Again
Take the opportunity this weekend to get back to school week bedtimes and routines so our students are ready to go on Monday! Remember to send labelled warm coats and water bottles to school, and prepare your children for the expectations of the school day. At Lawton, we always spend the first week back from break reviewing our behavior expectations for the classroom, hallways, bathrooms, lunchroom and playground, and we really appreciate your support in creating a smooth transition from the break to the school day!
Friday, Jan. 10 is School Spirit Day – Pajamas!
This one is a very popular dress up day – mark your calendar!
