School Info Session/Tours at Lawton

Lawton School Information Session and School Tours have been rescheduled for Thurs. January 8, 2026 at 9am, and Tues. January 13, 2026 at 5:00pm. Seattle Public Schools Enrollment Department recently announced that they are moving up the Open Enrollment for School Choice dates for the 26-27 school year from February 2026 to January 2026. To support that change, we are moving our tours to January instead of February. At the information session we will have an overview of the school and programs, followed by a tour of the building, and Lawton staff as well as PTA representatives will be present to answer questions. Please note that the tour in the morning on Jan. 8 is for adults only; children are welcome to attend the Jan. 13 evening event. No registration needed, and we’ll start

Lawton’s Bike, Walk, or Roll to School Day is on October 7th

Bus Riders: You are included! Car Riders: Consider parking a number of blocks away that matches your grade level, then walk to school. School pick-up and drop-off times can be hectic with many idling cars in the same area. Walking, biking, or rolling to school helps reduce congestion and makes the air cleaner to breathe. Fun Facts: Walking to school can help you feel more awake and ready to learn. Kids who walk to school often do better in class because exercise helps improve concentration. Walking with friends is a great way to start the day and can make the walk to school more fun. Walking helps build strong bones and muscles, which is important as you grow. Come by the prize table and let us know how you got to school Thursday morning.

Lawton Family Update September 19, 2025 – Letter from the Principal

Lawton Families, What a great start to the year we are having! Our new arrival procedure on the playground is going great, and we appreciate all the families who have paid the Student Supply fee so far this month! Our classes are busy working on the first units of study in all subjects (including Music and PE), and we have given our first WAVE winner recognitions at our weekly school-wide Wednesday assembly this week! Our 4th and 5th grade students learned about the options for Wednesday clubs this week, and all of our students have been to the library and have been issued their iPads or laptops for use at school. Lunches and recesses are going great, and our support staff, including counseling, multi-language learning, Academic Intervention, and Special Education have created their schedules
