April 2nd’s Principal Newsletter details the protocol for in-person drop-off and pick-up! :

New Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

There will be 3 separate entrance points for students:

• Kindergarten will enter through one downstairs door
• 1st and 2nd grade will enter thought the other
• 3-5 will line up on the playground and enter with their teachers when the bell rings

Please Note:

• Parents and caregivers may not enter the building.
• Students may arrive on campus without an adult as long as the daily health screening is completed at home.
• Vehicle drop off will be possible on

Lawton’s Takeout Tuesday is a perfect way to support our school and our local businesses, while also having an easy way to put dinner on the table! Pre-order your taco bar from Plaza Garibaldi by April 5th at 10pm for pick-up Tuesday April 6th!

Do you have a child in K-5 that wants to return to in-person learning on April 5? Do you plan on staying remote? Fill out the District’s Intent to Return survey. Check your email for your personalized link. Responses are due on March 24 at 11:59 p.m.

We are partnering with local businesses to create meals for the whole family and raise funds for Lawton! Place your order a day or more ahead directly with the restaurant and pick up at Lawton just in time for dinner! – we will provide contact details in posts each week.

Information Sessions. Attend a question and answer session on Monday, March 22nd to ask questions you might have prior to selecting the hybrid or remote model for your student(s). You are encouraged to carefully review all information provided by Seattle Public Schools within the survey emails you have received, prior to these sessions.

The results are in. The proposed PTA Budget for the 2021-2022 school year was approved with 90% of votes in favor.

·      55% voted to approve budget as presented

·      35% voted to approve and would like an increase in Community Outreach

·      10% did not approve the budget, but would do so without Community Outreach

Thank you to the 33 families who completed the ballot and all our PTA members for showing your support of Lawton PTA and our teachers.

We also want to remind our community of our continuing efforts to fundraise for THIS year. We still need to raise approximately

If not addressed by the legislature in Olympia, Seattle’s school funding from the state will be radically different next year due to enrollment declines during COVID-19. Urgent action by our lawmakers is needed to preserve teacher positions, transportation, and the overall capacity to resume a more normal educational experience when the time comes.

Contact your Legislators and ask for funding to address enrollment stabilization in the budget.   You can call the Legislative Hotline: 1.800.562.6000 and leave a message for your Legislators.  You can do this in your preferred language and your message will be translated for your Legislators.   You can also email your Legislators.  Find your Legislators by using the District Finder at
