Lawton Dolphins at the Seattle Mariners!

Join us at T-Mobile Park to see our Seattle Mariners take on the LA Angels. Lawton PTA has reserved a group of reduced price tickets in section 147. The $40 tickets are limited so get yours ASAP. Funds raised from ticket sales will go directly back to Lawton for staffing and school essentials. Tickets on sale 04/19-05/05 https://ch2v-324.memberhub.com/store/items/1018669 *If you would like to sit with a specific family/group please nominate one person to buy ALL the tickets you will need to accommodate your party. This is the only way to ensure you will all be seated together. Orders are based on a first come first served basis, and are subject to availability.

Dear Lawton Families, I want to start with a big shout out to our amazing School Counselor, Erica Barry, for organizing last week’s fun and well-attended Career Night and Volunteer Appreciation event – and to all the Lawton family members and PTA Board, who gave their time to share details about their careers with our students! On Friday, May 3 our School Spirit theme is College or Career wear! Also on May 3 - Lost and Found items will be donated on this day, so please give the racks a check this week! SPS Artificial Intelligence Policies SPS recently published information about how we use AI, and teach in the new AI reality. In the coming weeks we will be highlighting the roles that will be open on the 2024/25 Lawton PTA Board to give you an idea of what each role entails and the duties required for each. This week we are highlighting our Communications (newsletter/social media)position Other positions available: Co-President, Advocacy chair, treasurer & website administrator. Sign Ups for Staff Appreciation Day!

It's time to show Lawton Staff our LOVE!  Staff Appreciation Week is May 6th to 10th and we need lots of donations and a little parent help to show our teachers and staff just  how much we love them! In collaboration with a few of our amazing Lawton family-owned businesses, the Lawton PTA will be providing a coffee cart on Monday and catered lunches for all staff on Tuesday (Plaza Garibaldi - Libier Sandoval) and Thursday (Made in Mom's Kitchen - Ramandeep Talwar). Lands of Origin: African bakery @Pike Place (Meeraf Mamo) is donating desserts on Friday.  We're hoping other Lawton families will match this generosity by donating breakfast items to compliment the coffee cart on Monday, snacks for Wednesday, desserts on Thursday, and tableware and drinks for the entire week. Parent help will be needed to clean the staff

Earth Month Opportunity

The PTA has teamed up with Ridwell to celebrate Earth Month and provide you with a one-time opportunity to drop off or send in your *plastic film*.  Date and details of a one-time drop off (or send in) at school will be arriving soon but it will be the week of May 13-17 at school.  Please start collecting your *clean and dry* plastic film for this event -see our school's program link below - let's Reduce, Reuse and Recycle together!

Lawton Families, Welcome back from Spring Break! With no inclement weather days so far this year (hooray!), and our last day projected for June 21, the spring brings us so many fun events to look forward to – including field trips for many grade levels, Career Night (and Volunteer Appreciation) on April 23, the PTA Move-A-Thon fundraiser on May 10, and of course, Field Day on June 14. Lawton Career Night (and PTA Volunteer Appreciation!) Please join us on April 23rd, from 5:30-6:30 pm, for our second annual Lawton Career Exploration Night! We are so excited to showcase the jobs and careers of family members in our Lawton community. This is an all-ages open-house event with activities for all. Younger students will be able to engage with books and art at Ms. Gallegos’s career book

Birds & Bees Talk with Amy Lang The PTAs of Lawton, Blaine and Magnolia Elementary have partnered up to bring you an online talk by award-winning author and speaker Amy Lang on how and when to start the famous birds and bees talk.
