It is always fun to have families gathered in the school for special events and we appreciate all the volunteers who work to them happen. We enjoyed celebrating students who walked or biked to school on Wednesday. We hope it inspired families to do more non-car commutes now that the weather is improving. Next week is Staff Appreciation Week in Seattle Public Schools. I feel incredibly honored to work with this amazing staff at Lawton! Our staff works hard to create a warm, welcoming, and safe school community that is focused on both the academic and social growth of all students. I’m impressed how our teachers, support staff, and custodians consistently place students at the center of daily decisions, which results in

Lawton Move-a-Thon

We like to MOVE IT MOVE IT! Move-a-Thon is Friday, May 12! The PTA's annual Move-a-Thon is a festive, supportive opportunity for our kids to run, walk, skip and dance around the upper field until the music stops. It’s a fun-filled event with lots of parent involvement, and a big accomplishment for our kiddos. Thanks to our sponsor Metropolitan Market! We need lots of parent helpers (at least 3 per class) to help set up in the morning, track laps, run with the kids and otherwise encourage our movers to keep on keeping on. This is a high-reward, quick and easy outdoor volunteer opportunity—the more the merrier! Sign up here. See the time schedule below and arrive at the field 10 minutes before your child's session to get instructions. Parents of K – 3rd graders with

All items should be dropped off to Mikelle Nuwer at least one day before they are requested. Email website@lawtonelementary.org for more information.
