Direct Drive Raffle Prizes

The Lawton PTA fundraising team continues to offer prizes to those who are participating in the DIRECT DRIVE! Please participate - even if it's just to indicate that you are unable to donate money at this time! Our goal is to have full participation from all Lawton families!

Direct Drive Raffle Winner

This year's ask is $450 per child. The Dolphin Dreams Direct Drive is Lawton's largest fundraising event of the year. Funds raised in this event are used to support critical programs and essential needs, including arts and science programs, technology licenses, as well as funding for our librarian and recess & lunch monitors. If you are not able to contribute financially, we ask that you still log on to the website and choose “participate only” to register support for your child’s classroom and to be entered in our weekly raffles. This also helps us reach our goal of 100% school wide participation.  So far this year we have only reached 44% school wide participation. If you haven’t already done so, we kindly ask that you participate. There will be a special draw for the first

Principal Newsletter, October 30, 2023

Dear Lawton Families, I’m really enjoying popping into our classrooms and learning spaces the last few weeks, and seeing our students excited about what they are learning! From Kindergarten students writing their first stories, first and second graders working in small groups on math practice problems, third graders learning about the life cycle of salmon both in the library and in the classroom, to fourth and fifth graders starting their Wednesday clubs (dance, newspaper, Student Union, & media study), and students in PE & Music learning songs and dances for upcoming school events, the school is abuzz with students driving their learning through their own choices and voice! This year our staff is using our professional development time on Wednesday Early Release afternoons to intentionally develop instruction, assignments and assessments that engage students at all

PTA Board – Looking for Advocacy Volunteer

Open Advocacy Board Position! The Advocacy Chair is the link between PTA Policy Priorities at the state and national levels, and the concerns of your local board and members. This flexible position requires no legislative experience as the state PTA provides training and tools, just a desire to get involved and be informed on behalf of our children and families. This position informs the board and broader membership about current issues in education and is provided with tools from the state PTA to help PTA members become effective advocates for change. It also attends a monthly Building and Leadership Team meeting with school leaders as our PTA representative. If you are interested or would like to learn more, please contact Birgit at presidents@lawtonelementary.org.
