Move-a-Thon is Friday, May 12! The PTA’s annual Move-a-Thon is a festive, supportive opportunity for our kids to run, walk, skip and dance around the upper field until the music stops. It’s a fun-filled event with lots of parent involvement, and a big accomplishment for our kiddos. Thanks to our sponsor Metropolitan Market!
We need lots of parent helpers (at least 3 per class) to help set up in the morning, track laps, run with the kids and otherwise encourage our movers to keep on keeping on. This is a high-reward, quick and easy outdoor volunteer opportunity—the more the merrier!
See the time schedule below and arrive at the field 10 minutes before your child’s session to get instructions. Parents of K – 3rd graders with full SPS volunteer clearance should head to their classroom to help the kids pin on their numbers.

It’s time to show Lawton Staff our LOVE!
Staff Appreciation Week is May 8th to 12th!
The Lawton PTA is generously providing a coffee cart on Monday and catered lunches for all staff on Tuesday and Thursday. Geni’s Ethiopian Catering is donating desserts on Friday. We’re hoping Lawton families will match this generosity by donating breakfast items to compliment the coffee cart on Monday, snacks for Wednesday, desserts on Tuesday and Thursday, and drinks for the entire week.
If you are interested in contributing, please review this Sign Up Genius to sign up. We’d love to have a combination of store-bought grab-and-go items and homemade items (please include ingredient list).

Sounders FC has invited Lawton students and their families to participate in School Night at the Sounders! They are offering discounted tickets to all local schools for our May 7th match. Families can purchase their own tickets with THIS LINK if they are interested.
The event is May 7th at 1:30 PM.
One of our students initiated this fun Movie Night event, and the PTA is making it happen! If it is successful, we hope to host more events like these in the future.
We can’t do it without the help of volunteers! Please consider signing up!
The PTA is in need of a parent volunteer who can be on-site on Mondays from 2:15-4:15pm to assist. The volunteer makes sure that the instructors arrive and check attendance, makes sure everyone gets picked up by their caregivers and instructors leave the building. It’s a very easy gig!
For helping out, the PTA will cover the cost of your child/ren if they are in any enrichment classes!

What: Free showing of Wall-E
When: Friday April 28 – doors open at 5:30, movie will start at 6 PM
Where: Lawton commons
Aesthetic: pajamas! Bring your stuffy! Bring your cozy socks! Bring a pillow – let’s get comfy!
Food: the PTA will be providing a simple snack (i.e., Pirate Booty) and water. There will also be food trucks on site to purchase dinner. Feel free to bring your own food!
NOTE: this is not a drop-off event! Please plan to be on-site and available to your child. Parents are welcome to enjoy the movie with their children, or can mingle in the gym with other parents.
