PTA Fundraising: Direct Drive!
Lawton’s biggest annual fundraiser kicks off today! Funds raised ensure that all kids and families in our school community are able to continue to grow and learn together. Your support is critical to continue funding programs and essential needs, including arts and science programs, technology licenses, and recess & lunch monitoring staff - all things that are not fully funded by the district. This year's ask is $450 per child. For a break-down of funding, and why we ask for your support, visit the Direct Drive website. We understand that this is a big ask, and if you are unable to contribute financially, we ask that you still get involved in the Direct Drive by choosing “Participate Only” on the fundraising website to register support for your child's classroom and be entered in our weekly raffles. Lawton Families, It was so nice to see such a big turnout for our PTA Back To School Bash on Friday! We got lucky with the sunny weather, and I want to thank our amazing PTA for organizing this fun event! Dress for Weather – speaking of weather, it is that time of year when students will need to be mindful of dressing for cold and wet weather. Students play outside for recess for 30-45 minutes every day (which is a WA state law), so they should bring labelled outer wear every day. Labelled clothing is easily reunited with students – and do remember to check out the Lost and Found periodically (it is located in the gym/cafeteria hallway). No parking in the circle at the end of 27th Ave W. - a reminder to

Lawton Families, The 23-24 school year is off to a great start, and we loved having our Kindergarteners join us last week! We had our first weekly Wednesday all school assembly last week as well, and the whole student body sang a sweet song about Lawton that Ms. Kinder taught them in the first week of music; it was such a wonderful surprise that several staff found themselves so touched, they were wiping away tears. The Lawton Staff welcomes students and families to come in the school, see our learning spaces, and meet our staff this Tuesday evening.
